Another successful weekend of creativity by artists of all ages and skills in the Summit parking lot on April 19 and 20. The asphalt came to life with beautiful and unusual designs as young and old, professionals and amateurs, made their colorful mark and enjoyed the perfect Prescott weather.
2011 Prescott Resort Gingerbread Village - Things to Do
The 19th Annual Gingerbread Village is on display in the lobby of the Prescott Resort Conference Center until January 2, 2012. Claiming to be the World's Largest Gingerbread Village, it features over 100 whimsical houses with a handsome locomotive and cars adding to the fun.
Downtown Prescott was filled with music as singers, musicians and bands performed in local shops and businesses. Refreshments and appetizers were provided free in many locations throughout the downtown area. Acker Night is a "can't miss" event every year!
2011 Annual Courthouse Lighting - Prescott AZ Events
One of the most exciting and beautiful events in Prescott, Arizona, is the annual lighting of the Courthouse Plaza to celebrate Christmas. Before the switch was thrown, there were traditional readings by local dignitaries and carols were sung by local school choirs. This year, for the first time, the trees that line the street were also decorated with lights, 100 trees in total all around the square, to honor Arizona's 100-year anniversary of statehood coming up in 2012.
Prescott's Annual Christmas Parade wound its way around downtown Prescott December 3 as the snow continued to fall throughout the afternoon. Attendance was lighter than previous years but everyone was determined to stay and applaud the parade entrants for their own tenacity and spirit.
