The Phippen Art Museum's 37th Annual Western Art Show and Sale covered Prescott's Downtown Courthouse Plaza with exhibits by over 120 artists. Displaying everything from the finest oil paintings and pastels to a life-size bronze horse and an oversize 8-foot lizard, this show was packed with talent and enjoyed by an appreciative crowd. Visitors, often accompanied by their dogs (pet-friendly town!), strolled the square, stopping to discuss their finds with family and friends. Many were pleased to have the opportunity to chat with nationally known local and visiting artists whose work they had seen previously in magazines, art galleries or museums. This annual Phippen Art Museum event was held, Saturday and Sunday, May 28 and 29th, over the Memorial Day weekend. Artists were honored with awards on Sunday: Local artists Cathy Krieger (photo 1), received First Place in Oils, and Bill Cramer (photo 8) placed Third.
